Therapy for the parts of you that have been surviving for so long, they’ve forgotten how to simply be.
Individual therapy in Houston and virtually throughout Texas for anxiety, life transitions, relationship patterns, self-worth, and reconnecting with yourself.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before you start.
I’m Maigen, and I’m so glad you’re here.
My approach to therapy is deeply inspired by the philosophy of kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold. Rather than hiding the cracks, kintsugi honors them as part of the story.
In the same way, I believe healing is not about becoming someone entirely new. It’s about learning to understand yourself with more honesty and compassion, making sense of the experiences that shaped you, and reconnecting with the parts of yourself that may have been buried beneath anxiety, shame, self-doubt, or survival mode.
I work with young adults, professionals, and individuals navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationship patterns, identity exploration, grief, and self-worth challenges throughout Houston and Texas via telehealth.
Therapy that honors the parts of you you’ve learned to hide.
You feel disconnected from yourself, even if your life looks “fine” on the outside.
You’re navigating a major life transition, breakup, identity shift, or period of uncertainty.
You constantly overthink your relationships, emotions, or sense of self.
You’re tired of carrying shame, self-doubt, or patterns you don’t fully understand.
You don’t just want to ‘manage’ things, you want to understand yourself more deeply.
You might be here because...
Therapy can be a space to slow down, better understand yourself, and begin moving forward with greater clarity and self-trust.
More than coping — therapy that helps you understand yourself more deeply.
My work is insight-oriented, relational, and grounded in helping you understand the “why” beneath patterns, not just manage symptoms on the surface.
Support for major life changes, burnout, divorce recovery, uncertainty, identity shifts, and feeling stuck between who you were and who you’re becoming.

You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Many clients begin therapy because they feel stuck, disconnected, emotionally exhausted, or ready for deeper self-understanding.
-
Not at all. Many clients begin therapy feeling uncertain, overwhelmed, or disconnected without having clear words for why. Part of the process is making sense of things together.
-
Individual therapy sessions are typically 50 minutes and most clients begin meeting weekly. Frequency may shift over time depending on your needs, goals, and schedule.
Premarital counseling intensives may follow a different structure depending on the package and format selected.

Kintsugi Therapy Group is a private-pay practice and does not accept insurance. Superbills can be provided for clients seeking possible out-of-network reimbursement through their insurance plan.
Working outside of insurance allows for greater flexibility, privacy, and individualized care. Insurance companies often require mental health diagnoses, treatment limitations, and ongoing documentation to determine medical necessity for therapy. Remaining out-of-network allows me to tailor therapy more fully to your unique needs rather than insurance requirements.
Healing isn’t about pretending the pain never existed. It’s about understanding yourself more deeply because of it.
Therapy can help you better understand yourself, break old patterns, and move through life with more clarity, compassion, and intention.
